Waldgeist is a horror film that takes place in Portland, Oregon. It is based off of the German myth of forest spirits.

Alex (Alex Magaña) and Matt (Matt Lowe) are best friends who are complete opposites. Alex is responsible, in-shape and lonely. Matt is immature, overweight and smothered. Secretly, they envy each other’s lives and after a strange encounter with a magical bum, swap bodies. At the 1988 Winter Olympics at Calgary, we see Doug Dorsey battered in a vicious hockey game against West Germany. We then see Kate Moseley doing her program and falling when a lift goes bad. Both have fought all their life to get to the Olympics and suddenly the dream has been shattered. The movie then follows Kate, a tempermental but talented figure skater, through many partners until finally her coach resorts to recruiting a hockey player. Through the difficult training of 15 hours of skating a day they finally prepare for Nationals and the Olympics. A romance is budding and their final show could bend or break them as they try to achieve their dreams of an Olympic Gold medal.

Three 40-something women in a small English town meet weekly for a ritual of gin, cigarettes, and sweets — and swapped stories arguing which of them has the most pathetic love life. Kate is headmistress at the local school; her best friends are the town’s police chief and a cynical, thrice-divorced doctor.
