“James Stewart and June Allyson star in director Anthony Mann’s Cold War aviation drama Strategic Air Command. Robert “”Dutch”” Holland (Stewart), a successful player for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, finds his inactive duty status with the U.S. Air Force suddenly active. When Holland, originally tasked with a staff job, is promoted to commanding a B-36 bomber crew, his attempts to balance domestic life with Sally (Allyson as his devoted wife) and service to God and country will test not only his marriage, but also his sense of self.

Thank you Max. I was an A/C and Engine Mechanic back in 1955 working out in the wings of these giant bird’s engine’s at 30,000 feet! The sound those R4360 Reciprocating Engines made was something to behold. This movie brought back a whole lot of memories…! SMILE
Thank you Max. I recall seeing this as a young kid and it was just one more reason I was attracted to airplanes. It took me many years later to finally get to fly. Great memories. Thanks again.
