The beautiful Smoky Mountains are the backdrop for this poignant drama about the joys of sharing Christmas with a family. Dolly Parton stars as Lorna Davis, a singing star overburdened by her career and loneliness. Taking refuge in a friend’s cabin, Lorna discovers the place has been appropriated by seven parentless kids fleeing their orphanage. Lorna and the youngsters agree to keep their mutual escapes secret, but complications develop, thanks to the local witch (Anita Morris) and the sheriff (Bo Hopkins). Though Lorna finds a friend in Mountain Dan (Lee Majors), she still has to face Judge Benton (John Ritter) and fight to keep her new family together.
