Adam Dalgliesh takes us through 1970’s England as he solves unusual murders ranging from a nursing student poisoned during a training demonstration, to a homeless man and recently resigned Tory MP whose throats were slashed in a London church to suspicious deaths at a mysterious home for the disabled.

When a senior forensic biologist is found dead in his lab, Dalgliesh is called to East Anglia, where the murderer is lying in wait to strike again.

Season 2, Episode 02 – “Death of an Expert Witness (2)”
After another body is discovered, Dalgliesh and Miskin untangle a web of infidelities in this rural community, unearthing a killer with secrets to hide and tracks to cover.

Season 2, Episode 03 – “A Certain Justice (1)”
Not long after securing an acquittal for Garry Ashe in his aunt’s murder, controversial defence barrister Venetia Aldridge is fatally stabbed. Dalgliesh sets out to investigate the case and identify the killer.

Season 2, Episode 04 – “A Certain Justice (2)”
Following another death tied to the law chambers, Dalgliesh and Miskin take statements from everyone who might have been involved. In the process, they discover some unexpected connections between the victims and witnesses.

Season 2, Episode 05 – “The Murder Room (1)”
Museum director Marcus Dupayne is desperate to convince his brother Neville to sign a new lease on the Dupayne Museum. When Neville dies in a terrible fire, a murder investigation commences and Dalgliesh gets to work.

Season 2, Episode 06 – “The Murder Room: Part 2”
Following the gruesome discovery, Dalgliesh informs everyone that a second person has died. As Dalgliesh continues his investigation, he uncovers an unexpected twist involving an undisclosed affair.
