Murphy is a hard-living, hard-drinking, disaffected twenty-something with a penchant for cigarettes and casual sex. She’s also blind. Murphy lives with her supportive best friend, Jess, and – more reluctantly – her trusty guide dog, Pretzel, whose presence she resents. Murphy’s closest friend is a sweet teenager named Tyson, who she befriends after he saved her from a violent mugging. Her life comes crashing down when she stumbles upon what she’s sure is the lifeless body of Tyson in the alley outside her apartment. But when the police arrive there is no body to be found – and with Murphy not exactly sober, the police aren’t especially inclined to investigate. Murphy is determined to find the truth, no matter the risk… even if it means she has to sober up a little.

Murphy accidentally sets off a chain of events that have near fatal consequences for Felix. Meanwhile, Leslie’s quick thinking buys everyone a little breathing room.

Season 4, Episode 04 – “Hard Pill to Swallow”
Gene and Josh take a swing at tying Murphy to their latest case and end up with something completely unexpected meanwhile, Felix tricks Max into revealing what he has been hiding and Leslie has to improvise when a plan she put into motion goes off course

Season 4, Episode 05 – “The Trial of Murphy Mason, Part One”
As Murphy’s trial date arrives, she must face all the ghosts of her past that have come forward as witnesses against her and the secrets that are revealed along the way; the trial also means a complicated reunion for Felix.

Murphy faces two equally-concerning outcomes as her trial continues.

Season 4, Episode 07 – “C.I. Was Right”
Murphy follows through on the deal she made and finds herself partnered up with someone who she’d rather not have to spend time with. Meanwhile, Max is left reeling after the mess he made during Murphy’s trial.

Season 4, Episode 08 – “Tequila Mockingbird”
Tensions run high when Murphy’s plans hit a bump in the road. Josh’s vendetta against Murphy grows with the help of a new friend.

Season 4, Episode 09 – “Center of Gravity”
Murphy and Max have a long overdue conversation. Darnell’s paranoia turns into fear when everything starts crumbling.

Season 4, Episode 10 – “No Time to Spare”
Murphy and Darnell come face to face with the source of their problems and Max and Gene get pulled into the mess; as his condition worsens, Josh’s bad blood with Murphy gets the best of him.

Season 4, Episode 11 – “The Deep End”
Josh’s persistence to bring Murphy down motivates everyone to pull a plan together. Murphy asks Felix for a favor and Darnell learns some intriguing information about the team behind.

Season 4, Episode 12 – “Going Up”
Max and Murphy make plans for the future, and everything seems to be going according to plan at the fundraiser with Murphy and Darnell posing as the un-happy couple. Meanwhile, Josh concocts his own plan and inserts himself in the middle of everything.

Season 4, Episode 13 – “Please Shine Down on Me”
Murphy copes by distracting herself with a new motivation: getting even. Felix attempts to help her find other ways to deal with her emotions, but like anything with Murphy, it’s an uphill battle. Josh is smug as he slowly puts together how the night unfolded, until he realized that it’s not over yet.
