Hi,
Well this is new – and not just confined to this webpage.
For 15 minutes or so, I initiate the download. It shows that it is connecting – then it abruptly ceases! I tried other AllYouLike posts. Currently the same over and over. The `activity’ circling, the temporary tab saying `loading’, the `untitled’ text replacing `loading’ on that same tab. I cannot explain this last step. I can advise you, through long observation, THIS STEP ALWAYS PRECEDES THE START OF A DOWNLOAD. It is at that point, the download `stops’ immediately. The `loading’/`untitled’ tab vanish and then … nothing. It goes not further. A new webpage, acts the same way. And again and again. I have made hundreds, thousands of downloads from here. The difference is the `loading’/`untitled’ is followed by the pop-up location/naming download `box’. Not during this session, however.
Hopefully a temporary issue. I am really hoping that my sometimes very long downloads has not worsened still further. I have been reluctant to make the changes advised by RareFile to address those super-long downloads – until I have someone, with much more tech know-how that I, assure me that there will be no side-effects. So when it shows hours or days download time, I have been leaving the site and trying at another time.
Please advise, the inability to start a download – short or long – at the moment is `fixable’ – please?
Hello kfab we will look into this and im very sorry for this we re assure you we will fix the problem thank you very much

Hi Team MaxDugan,
Thank you – and while I hope this can be fixed – for most of today, the problem has persisted. I HAVE FOUND a longer way to effect a download from the links. I use a Chrome browser, under Windows 10. I usually right-click the mouse menu on `open link in new tab’, to `automatically’ bring up the download `box’.
HOWEVER, if I right-click the mouse menu on `copy link address’ and then paste it in the address `bar’ of a new tab, the download box does indeed come up.
But it is a quite a bit longer process. Especially, if there are many downloads. So, I am VERY hopeful that I can return to the `normal’ way of downloading soon. Please.
As stated here, and on on another webpage, my downloading has been deteriorating to – increasingly – very long (sometimes saying hours or even days expected to finish). In my first two-three months of membership, try as I may, I cannot remember one download problem – and that was with ADSL. Maybe this is a new Chrome thing, a Windows Update thing – or in the cables with Australia or even to the block of flats in which I live. BUT early this morning, AllYouLike downloads worked fine. Some a little long, but generally fine. And, I am downloading from sites across the world without experiencing this problem.
I DO sincerely appreciate your following up on this. I will try AllYouLike again tomorrow. Thank you. 🙂
Dear Team MaxDugan,
Should you be looking into this – please do so no further. My belief that the download `issue’ was only associated with AllYouLike, was based on my only experiencing the changed approach here. Downloading from other sites was, for me, the same way that it had been. However, in the last 24 hours, the download procedure for those sites is now exactly the same as here at AllYouLike. Why not all sites at the same time – I do not know. Somehow the adoption of what I first experienced here a few days ago, has been staggered – maybe country-by-country depending on server location. Whatever the reason, it most definitely IS NOT your problem. Thank you for checking into it. I will need to check out more download-friendly browsers – maybe return to Edge.
Thank you for any looking into. Sigh! Of course, thank you for the great range of posts.
