TNT has greenlighted Public Morals, written by, to be directed and starring Burns. Amblin TV and TNT Original Prods. are producing, with Steven Spielberg and Burns executive producing alongside Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Aaron Lubin. The project is set in New York City, 1967 in the Public Morals Division where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that comes from dealing with all kinds of vice can get the better of them. It centers on cop Terry Muldoon (Burns) who knows the line between the good guys and bad guys is thin, and he is determined to raise his sons to be honest and hardworking as he deals with the dark underbelly of the vice world.

Terry Muldoon issues a warning to his gangster uncle and offers support to a new division recruit.

Season 01, Episode 02 – “Family is Family”
Muldoon takes a look into his uncle’s murder. Romance breaks out between Sean O’Bannon and his best friend’s sister.

Season 01, Episode 03 – “O’Bannon’s Wake”
Mr. O’s wake is held, which sees Muldoon brought together with the west-side Irish Mob. Patton and his son fall out over who should control Mr. O’s bookmaking operation.

Season 01, Episode 04 – “Ladies Night”
Muldoon and Latucci take their wives on a double date, using the perks of the job to have a night on the town. Shea is partnered for the night with O’Bannon, who has some fun at Shea’s expense when arresting a couple of hookers. Kane takes the first step in avenging Mr. O’s death.

Season 01, Episode 05 – “A Token of Our Appreciation”
Rusty takes revenge after discovering his two soldiers, Rogers and O’Reilly, have been murdered. Muldoon needs to step in when Latucci’s friendship with a well-known Italian Mobster is questioned. Bullman’s relationship with high-end call girl Fortune is further complicated when she asks Bullman for more help. Smitty quickly discovers that being a boss brings unexpected danger.

Season 01, Episode 06 – “A Hunger / Newyn”
Lady Love heads to Windsor to hear the fate of Ventrishire from King Edward II. Back at Castle Ventris, Baron Pryce visits Milus and company.

Season 01, Episode 07 – “Collection Day”
Muldoon juggles tensions at home with Christine and the kids, warns Latucci about his relationship with the Moose, while also pursuing the Pattons. Lt. King helps out an old flame and assembles some fellow officers to take care of the situation. Kane and Hopkins have been hiding upstate and plot their revenge on Rusty upon return. Patton questions his brother’s loyalty as tensions rise between Patton and Rusty. Rusty spills more blood in his hunt for Kane.

Season 01, Episode 08 – “No Crazies on the Street”
Muldoon must make a final decision about whether Shea should be in Public Morals and puts him to the test to see if he is worthy. Rusty and Kay finally spend some much anticipated alone time together. Bullman plays “boyfriend” with Fortune when her mother comes to town. Kane finally returns to Hell’s Kitchen, and it is soon a race between Rusty and Kane to get to each other first – with bloody results.

Season 01, Episode 09 – “Starts with a Snowflake”
Muldoon gets a surprising tip. Patton is officially done with Rusty and starts making moves. Christine makes plans to leave Hell’s Kitchen, with or without Muldoon. Deirdre gets unexpected news that forces her to look at her relationship with O’Bannon.

Season 01, Episode 10 – “A Thought and Soul”
The streets of Hell’s Kitchen run red with the blood of the Irish Mafia, as the west side war comes to a head. Muldoon treats Christine to a night on the town, and makes a decision. Duffy gets surprising news from Deirdre. As Bullman’s feelings for Fortune intensify, he’s forced to make a decision about their relationship.
